HoRNet Molla v1.0.0 [VST VST3 AAX AU / WiN & macOS]
The HorNet Molla (/‘mɔlːa/, the Italian word for spring) is the simplified version of the HoRNet SpringVerb. Molla uses the same algorithm of its bigger brother to recreate the complexity of the physical interactions taking place in a spring reverb between the springs and the sound.
In a spring reverb the reverberation effect is generated through an electro-mechanic stimulation of one or more springs at different tension. The spring(s) complex oscillations are then converted back into electrical signal by pickups.
The spring reverb was born together with plate reverb as a mean to create artificial reverberation in the 30s and was made popular by Hammond organs which adopted this kind of reverberation due to its small size. This factor also lead to the adoption of spring reverbs from many guitar amplifier manufacturer and, despite not sounding like a natural reverb, its metallic and dark sound has become part of the recording history for many musical genres.
Like with the SpringVerb, we approached the recreation of this peculiar sound implementing a mix of research papers and adding our own twist but, we have packed the attitude, the sound and the flexibility of our SpringVerb into a smaller format that is simple to use.
Thanks to the Molla carefully selected parameters, you will get your unique reverb sound faster and easier than ever. Even with just one spring!
With Molla you can get short or long and cavernous reverbs by adjusting the intrinsic vibration time or you can explore how the Density parameter changes from a natural sounding reverb (when set at 100%) to a metallic one whet set to 0%.
Of course, we added also the wet/dry parameter for blending your original sound with the reverb and a lovely spring that lights up when activated by the sound you fed into it.
