Computer music expert Sami Rabia explains and explores Output’s first audio effect plug-in, MOVEMENT, teaching you the ins and outs, in addition to sharing some great sound design tips.

Sami begins the series with an introduction to MOVEMENT and an overview of what makes it stand out from other audio plug-ins, then goes into each of the FX modules in detail.

Sami then reveals the key to getting the most out of MOVEMENT, its rhythm section. He guides you through how to modulate any parameter in MOVEMENT using the LFOs and the Step Sequencer, to make your audio move, shimmy, and shake. To really get your source material grooving, he guides you through setting up the XY Controller for even more creative sonic options.

Finally, Sami demonstrates how to use MOVEMENT with two sound design examples. First, he constructs a unique, glitchy patch that gives a drum loop a set of wild, chaotic movements, while still maintaining the core beat. He then finishes up with how to take a dry vocal and use MOVEMENT to give it a hypnotic rhythm.
